Seasoned clinical and operations leader elevated to C-Suite to continue overseeing staff development, program innovation, pop health, IT, and software development

LIVINGSTON, TN, January 5, 2026

Encore Healthcare, a healthcare software company whose Nexus platform powers advanced telerespiratory services and technology-enabled respiratory programs for post-acute care providers, today announced the promotion of Carrie Proffitt, RRT to Chief Development Officer (CDO).

Proffitt’s promotion marks the latest step in a distinguished tenure at Encore, where she has consistently taken on greater responsibility and driven meaningful growth across the organization. She first joined Encore as Director of Clinical Operations, quickly establishing herself as a trusted leader known for her clinical excellence and relentless work ethic. She was later promoted to Vice President of Clinical Operations, and then to Senior Vice President of Operations, overseeing not only clinical operations but also software development and IT.

“Carrie’s journey with Encore has been marked by steady growth, exceptional leadership, and an unwavering commitment to both our mission and our people,” said Zach Gantt, CEO of Encore Healthcare.

“When I first asked her how she would lead a software development team, she told me, ‘I may not know much about software development but I know how to lead people.’

That comment was a true sign of a leader willing to do whatever it takes to drive our company forward. Today, she knows more about software development than anyone outside the dev team.”

In her new C-Suite role as Chief Development Officer, Proffitt will be responsible for:

  • Staff development and leadership growth

  • Program development and clinical operations

  • Encore’s newest population health initiative

  • Information Technology and software development

By unifying these critical areas under one leader, Encore is positioning itself to accelerate innovation, strengthen execution, and continue building industry-leading solutions that deliver measurable outcomes, drive compliance, and enable scalable growth for respiratory care programs.

“Carrie’s heart for people, her personality (sometimes unfiltered), and her ability to develop leaders make her uniquely suited for this role,” Gantt added.

“We are confident that she will rise to the occasion, strengthen Encore’s foundation, and fuel our future.”

Encore Healthcare extends its heartfelt congratulations to Carrie Proffitt on this well-deserved promotion and looks forward to her continued impact on the company’s culture, strategy, and solutions
